"...we discovered we were overestimating run times by 30 to 40%...taking our machines out of service nearly twice as often as we should have."

Gateways

The brains of the network

The TeraHop Gateway Router (GR) is the central control and information collection and dissemination device that links all components at a site.

Mounted on a pole, building, or vehicle, the Gateway Router announces its presence when first turned on and, within a few moments, the entire network including Portable Data Collectors (PDCs), PDAs and or laptops, and other Gateway Routers are fully operational providing presence and condition of all on-site assets automatically.

Gateway Router (GR2100 and GR2101) features include:

  • Bi-directional wireless technology - Gateway Routers communicate with other Gateway Routers and PDCs to form a wireless mesh network
  • GPS receiver, which permits localization of in-range PDCs whether the Gateway Routers are fixed, mobile, or at temporary/remote sites
  • Multiple transceivers: two at 2.4 GHz to communicate with PDCs; two at either 2.4 GHz (GR2101) or 5.8 GHz (GR2100), to communicate with other Gateway Routers, PDAs, laptops, and other devices
  • Standard Ethernet interface capability for wired or point-to-point radio network configurations
  • Mounted to vehicles, buildings, poles and other structures
  • Draw power either from local AC or from a vehicle
  • Mesh network re-shapes and re-forms itself as resources move
  • Ideal for mobile, temporary, and fixed installations
  • Upgradable and scalable
  • Provides coverage up to 3,000 feet

Mini Gateway Router (GR1100) features include:

  • Bi-directional wireless technology - Mini Gateway Routers communicate with PDCs to form a wireless mesh network
  • Tethered USB connection to laptop/PC for data and power
  • GPS receiver optionally attached to associated laptop/PC
  • 2.4 GHz transceiver to communicate with PDCs
  • Mounted to vehicles, buildings, poles and other structures
  • Mesh network re-shapes and re-forms itself as resources move
  • Ideal for mobile, temporary, and fixed installations
  • Upgradable and scalable
  • Provides coverage up to 3,000 feet

Network "Islands"

You can connect multiple Gateway Routers to provide increased coverage at , your site, creating a coverage "island." Islands can vary in size from a small lot to a multi-acre facility. Each Gateway Router provides coverage approximately the size of two football fields placed side by side.
