"It is essential for us to know exactly how long the machinery is being used. That knowledge allows us to create an accurate record of maintenance requirements."
- Technology Manager, KLB Construction

TeraHop Networks' rugged products are engineered to withstand harsh environments such as mining and construction sites.  The solutions can be augmented with sensors to detect risk factors specific to the monitored environment, e.g. harmful gas levels within a mine.

In addition to its usage in the field, TeraHop's personnel monitoring solutions can be implemented within facilities or sites to monitor time and attendance and access to restricted areas within a site.

TeraHop provides solutions to ensure a compliant, safe, secure and productive environment for all personnel within the mining and tunneling sector:

  • Avert safety risks by restricting access to potentially dangerous areas
  • Count workers in and out of work zones
  • Signal emergencies and dramatically reduce response time
  • Track and monitor personnel or environmental health and safety status via add-on sensors
  • Track equipment for instant utilization for specific work project or in case of emergencies
  • Manage time and attendance
  • Monitor personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Provide wireless means to instantly record and reconcile personnel at muster stations in emergency evacuations

With TeraHop's suite of track and management solutions, operators in the mining/tunneling sector can be assured that their work environment is well-equipped with state-of-the art technology to protect workers and assets, as well as provide compliance with mandatory regulations.

Do you know what "hopping" is? The wake-up-then-transfer-data process described above can be repeated from PDC to PDC, in a daisy-chain. Each PDC is successively awakened, then awakens others, transferring data from PDC to PDC, until the data reaches the intended destination. In this way, messages and commands "hop" through the network without wasting power. Read more.
